Martin Renkis is a distinguished entrepreneur known for founding and leading Smartvue Corporation, a company that pioneered cloud video software services and IoT SaaS technologies. He served as the CEO of Smartvue before it was acquired by Johnson Controls in 2018. Renkis is celebrated for introducing the first cloud surveillance subscriptions to the market in 1999, positioning Smartvue as a leader in its field. Following the acquisition, he has taken on roles at Johnson Controls, including Vice President of OpenBlue Security and Innovation, and General Manager of Cloud Solutions and Global Security Products. His work has significantly influenced cloud-based video surveillance and Internet of Things Video (IoTV) infrastructure. He was former founder and CEO of Trainersoft Corporation, the first cloud based e-learning platform, which was acquired in 2002 and still operated by IBM. Additionally, Renkis is master mentor of entreprenuership at Vanderbilt University and has a history of contributing to the growth and innovation of cloud SaaS solutions in various industries. He is also an inventor of more than 80 granted patents. Today, Martin is the Executive Director of Global Alliances for Sustainable Infrastructure at Johnson Controls, building strategic partnerships to deliver net zero as a service worldwide.
