Director, Digital Customer Experience & Advanced Marketing Toyota Material Handling

Nick Ostergaard is the Director of Digital Customer Experience & Advanced Marketing at Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA).

TMHNA represents the Toyota and Raymond brands in the North American material handling industry, where one in three forklifts is a TMHNA-branded forklift.

In his current role, Nick has executive oversight of TMHNA’s customer portals, e-commerce sites, telematics digital experiences, and other dealer- and customer-facing digital solutions. With a focus on blending value-added experiences with commercialization and differentiation, Nick leads with strong accountability, humility, and a genuine curiosity to learn. He is known for being decisive when needed, thoughtful in how he communicates, and committed to building trust, simplifying complexity, and helping others succeed.

Previously, Nick led Advanced Services & Digital Solutions at Toyota Material Handling, overseeing a $140 million business that included MyInsights® Telematics, Toyota Fleet Services, and MyToyota.

Since joining Toyota in 2014, Nick has helped guide the organization from traditional marketing tactics to a more unified digital marketing strategy, later expanding his scope across e-commerce, telematics, energy solutions, and fleet management. His approach has remained consistent: identify opportunities, act with intention, measure results, and keep improving. He believes strong leadership means pairing high standards with empathy, staying open to better ideas, and turning around to help the next person in line.

Earlier in his career, Nick worked at leading Midwestern lobbying firms, where he developed strengths in influence, communication, and solving complex problems at the intersection of business and government. That experience still shapes his approach to strategy, stakeholder alignment, and negotiation.

Nick is a former four-year collegiate baseball player at Franklin College and carries that discipline into a lifestyle centered on faith, family, fitness, resilience and longevity.

Nick lives in Columbus, Indiana, with his wife, Jessica, and their daughters, Aria and Maya.
